1957-1989 DC Comics DETECTIVE (Volume #1) #250-600 comics. (List Updated 8-13-23)
The majority of these are old and rare. They tend to be in lower & mid grade as they are as you know, nearly impossible to find in high grade. Because of this after issue number in drop down list I have assigned it a letter grade what I believe the condition is. After you get to issue #500 they really become higher grade. If their is no grade after number then they are in Very Fine to Near Mint condition. I am not a professional grader by any means but I have a vast collection and I have been buying, selling and sending comics out to be professionally graded for over 40 years now. So I think I am pretty fair with grades I am giving each comic. I know everyone has their own opinion of grading that is why each early issue listed on here has a picture of the front and back. This allows you to decide condition as well. I have my grading scale below. I do these “You Pick” auctions because as a longtime collector, I would always get frustrated when I needed a issue or two an I could not find any for a reasonable price shipped. Also I will always be adding to this list as I am always buying out old dealers stock. I will be starting many of these lots for various titles if you are looking to fill in your sets.
My Grading scale is similar to the standard Overstreet Comic Book Guide which grades from 1 (Fair) to 10 (Mint):
.5 to 1.5 Fair (FA)
2 – Good (G)
2.5 to 3.5 – Good to Very Good (G/VG)
4 – Very Good (VG)
4.5 to 5.5 – Very Good to Fine (VG/FN)
6 – Fine (FN)
6.5 to 7.5 – Fine to Very Fine (FN/VF)
8 – Very Fine (VF)
8.5 to 9.5 Very Fine to Near Mint (VF/NM)
